Give Unto The Lord

"Give unto the Lord, O ye mighty, give unto the Lord glory and strength.  Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness."  Psalm 29:1-2.  The mighty praise their own strength.  The mighty glory in their power.  The psalmist calls the mighty to understand the true source of all power and strength.  That source is the Lord.  The Lord is to be praised for His strength and power.  The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars, divides the flames of fire, shakes the wilderness, makes the hinds to calve, and discovers the forests.  What power does the Lord not possess?  What strength can the Lord not exert?  Glory is due unto Him for He has all glory.  Strength is due unto Him for He has all strength.  The Lord is to be worshipped for He is the Lord.  The cedar cannot grow without Him.  The fire cannot burn without Him.  The calf cannot be born without Him.  The wilderness and the forest exist because of Him.  The Lord sits upon the flood and the Lord reigns as King forever.  The Lord is to be worshipped in holiness for He is holy.  The Lord is to be glorified for He is glory.  Let the mighty come into His temple and praise Him.
